The brand was started in the UK in 1974, so over nearly 50 years we have been
developing, designing and sourcing products from across the world. We pride ourselves that people from the Mercian
‘team’ have actually been visiting factories and production facilities across the globe on a regular basis to ensure that our equipment comes from high-quality
sources, using the best materials with recognised levels of employee / worker
support.
This has given us relationships and friendships with many of the suppliers in the most widely recognised of hockey equipment hot-spots, Jalandhar in India and Sialkot in Pakistan. It’s something we have always believed in, the power of relationships,people working with people and those long-term associations give us confidence in the quality control that relates to the products that we bring to market. The constant visits to factories also means that the quality of the raw materials is monitored and regulated so we can combine exceptional workmanship with superb materials to create extremely high quality equipment.
With customers in over 30 different countries we consult with our business partners, sponsored athletes, friends and the wider hockey family across global markets to create ranges of products that can be used at every level of the game in any country. All our products conform to FIH regulations and with our owner and Managing Director – Simon Mason – being a past executive board member of the European Hockey Federation and a previous equipment panel member of the FIH it means we have up to date technical information to ensure that our products are as good as they can be – adding value to your performance.
